I wanted to add a creative element to my project that wasn't just the make-up and hair design. I thought about how important texture is to this project as it add the element of touch and sight to the website. I feel like my creativity flows best when I can just work in the moment, I find that planning too much makes things rigid. So I sat down with my sticks and hot glue gun and just pieced it together. I made sure that I constantly checked the height and the shape of it against the heads of family members to ensure that it would fit my model.
- Didn't take any measurements of the size of the head and the height of the hair once up- therefore couldn't tell how high to take the sticks.
- Didn't have plain skewers so had to buy green ones- despite the fact the shoot is supposed to be blue fragments of light/glass.
- Thought I could solve the problem by buying glitter spray but even after 5 coats it wasn't thick enough to mask the green.
- I enjoyed the physical making aspect of this shoot because I like being creative through actually bringing something to life from a design.
Despite the amount of sticks I used the headpiece was very lightweight which worked in my favour as I knew that I will need to secure to the head somehow. At this stage I am still unsure of how I am going to work this into the hair as it pretty much in the shape of a semi circle. I need to think about a way of securing the hair itself so it is strong enough to hold the headpiece.
